Urgent Care :: Turtle eaten multiple small rocks!!! HELP PLZ

Why don;t you try feeding him in a separate tank? Let him stay there after he eats until he poops and then you can scoop the poop and any rocks it has in it away. It's sounding like your turtle is eating and pooping regularly, but if he ate rocks, it's not doing him any good to keep passing and then re-eating them.

Lettuce is good. Too much lettuce wll cause diarrhea.

Try feeding him in a separate bowl. Lots of turtles will poop right after eating and you will probably be able to tell better whether he's pooping if he's in a small bowl rather than in his tank.

thanks for all the help. im happy to say that my turtle has been pooing and i have been removing the poo and searching it for small rocks. it seems as though i underestimated my turtles digestive tract.

From my own experience, turts that are impacted become ravenous at first, then they will stop eating and will usually bask and not return to the water at all, not even to drink. They will "strain" even on the basking ramp, and in the last stages will become frantic......males will constantly be fanning, which will actually be a prolapse, the female will act like she is gravid, but could be in a prolapse mode as well, with the lower colon hanging out......
If your turt is showing any signs of this behavior, take them to the Vet right away! If you let it go too long, your turt will die from dehydration, in the last stage they will just shut down.......
