ok it says

"Retained scutes: "Dysecdysis" is the term to describe the condition in which an old scute is retained and not shed properly. This condition is often associated with poor husbandry, and may occur if the turtle has not been able to dry off or bask sufficiently to lose its old scutes. Retained scutes often become infected. A turtle with dysecdysis should be examined by a veterinarian."

They bask quite a bit and there are no signs of scutes building up.

My pictures come out like that too sometimes. I have a 7.2 mega pixel and I feel like it's a big lie :?
Which cam did you take those pics with?

try the macro settings. It was hard to tell for me in the pictures. Looked normal but if you noticed the change then something is going on. We will have to see on Friday I guess.

I must confess those pictures are hard to distinguish, but it looks like something is obviously there. It depends on what your vets says, but if it were me, I'd try some salt baths with aquarium salt (but see what your vet says first).

I can't see what you're seeing, and whatever you're seeing has you alarmed. Go with your gut feeling. If it's nothing, you'll feel relieved and if it's something, you'll be glad you caught it early (and wouldn't you kick yourself if it was something and you waited?). Let us know what the vet thinks it is, if anything.

Yes I would definetly kick myself. I'll post an update on Friday. I've cut a hole in the screen in case it's blocking the uvb.

Too late for the screen now, but if you need something with bigger holes, try hardware cloth. You also could use something as simple as an oven rack in a pinch.
