I've just joined in. cause I really need help right now. so please please help

see my friends gave me 2 RES turtles for my birthday, and i love them so much. one's name hoka and the other one's hoki.
I bought them a tank, with all the fasilities, trust me all the fasilities. the water heater and the UV light and all.

before i bought them a tank, i put them in a jar. i gave them pelet, hoka is so greedy, everytime i gave them food he always eats it all up, hoki, on the other hand just wont eat.
everytime i put the jar in the suntlight for them to bask, hoki wont bask, he hides in his cave all day. hoka, on the other hand always bask.

i try google'ing what was wrong with hoki, and someone said that turtles sometimes fast for a week or so. that time i was relief to think that maybe hoki's behavior was normal.

until one day i was shocked to see hoka bit hoki's leg. then i immediately separate them. then i tried google'ing it again. and it said that turtle would kill for territory. and it seem that it was right, cause when i bought them a tank, hoka stopped biting hoki.

but hoki, still wont eat, he even wont bask. hoka, on the other hand gotten really greedy that he ate ants that jumpped into the tank.
i try basking hoki in the sunlight for a whole day, but nothing changed. since he doesnt seem to be dying, i thought he was fine, just a little different. until i saw him today, with his shell a little bit curved. and when i touched his shell, it was sooooft!!! and when i took a look at his eyes, it was closed and a bit red'ish. before he still would open his eyes for a little while.

please tell me what should i do, i've tried everything i can.

i tried giving them different food, but hoki still wont eat.

please please please help me!!

Putting them in a jar in sunlight probably caused them to overheat. Hoki already sounds weak and Hoka already sounds aggressive. He's probably eating more than his share of the food and attacking Hoki because he is weak and not very responsive. I would keep them separate until things are sorted out.

What exactly is all the facilities? Based on what information? What have you been trying to feed him?

How old are they? It's a shame that people always unwillingly get two turtles or more to start out. My advice, see if you can keep one and find the other a new home. Unless you want to double everything you need. My bill for one turt is almost 400+ dollars over the course of a month or two to get everything I need. Good luck. For a beginner myself who's still learning the ropes, one little guy is best for beginners. Try feeding in separate containers. Make sure they are both able to get up to the basking area easily and have the lights at right temps. Who'da thunk there'd be such a learning curve. Everyone's like dude they live in swamps, some water and pellets and your good. Sheesh.

I've been giving them pellets now, is there anything else i should try giving them? should i try feeding them small worms?
i have the lights, the uvb light. i got them a pretty large tank, a toy cave, and an island for them to bask which is totally out of water, and of course enough water for them to swim around. is there anything else i should get them?
i separate them now, i left hoka in his tank cause he seemed to like it there. today i put hoki in a transparant plastik jar, totally dry from water and i put it in the sunlight. am i wrong?
i dont really know how old they are, but they are sure not babies.
hoki wont eat anything at all, how can he get better if he wont eat? i'm worried about his eyes, it looks like its swollen or something. is there any food that RES turtles cant resist? so that hoki would eat
please help me, hoki looks like he's dying.

Jars in the sun is a bad idea, small amounts of water can get very hot/cold quickly. Your little guy needs his own tank set up right now so he has a chance to get healthy. He needs a steady water temp, and steady basking temp, or he could develop even worse issues like respiratory infections.

Yes read the pages on the main site about nutrition. I think if you give good pellets, that's all the protein they really need. Calcium, found in nutritious lettuce, like red leaf and dandelion greens. Any other worms/fish/shrimp etc. should be an occasional treat. if you can get some cuttlebone, that's also a nice pure calcium treat. Remove the hard backing.

i havent read that, i'll try it. so turtles love tuna?
how about if i try giving him shrimp? small ones?
will eating makes him better?

now hoki cant open both of his eyes, his eyes looks really swollen. i think he has an eye infection.
i read somewhere in a website, that giving should try giving him eye drops, human eye drop would be fine. is it save if i try that?

Eating is a good sign, but your turtle should have all the basics to have a chance to be healthy. Zoo Med sells Turtle Eye Drops, you can try that.

Pooping is a good sign, but you need to review some of the content on this site for guidelines on their care. Water temperatures, filters, basking areas and lighting are very important to their health. Do you know Jameshermanto and Novroz? They are also from Indonesia.

He may be weak from not eating. Have you tried the live worms? Maybe live feeder fish?
