You might think I'm a terrible person, but I accidentaly dropped my baby turtle, and deserve the punishment. It has a little scratch on the shell, but it's really little. She eats, and acts fine, but she's pretty mad at me.OMG,I feel so bad for being so irrisponsible.I will try to do anything I can to make her feel better.Poor little baby.

how do you hold it, that was probably the whole problem. and also, why not just let the turtle bask when it wants to, unless it hasnt basked for an extremely long time, even then, you should go to a vert first...

You have to be very careful how you hold and carry your turtle. If they don't feel secure they are going to try and get away. You're better off putting it in a small container while holding it over it's tank than to hold it in the air. Keep an eye on the scratch so that it doesn't get infected. What is wrong with it's current setup that you have to put it in another container to bask?

I really don't know why it won't bask, but i started to get worried because it's shell was soft.It has 2 places to bask, and 1 is like very easy to reach.Everything seems OK.I asked a vet,and she said that it's totally fine,it's just going into hibornation.but the water is warm,so it's not possible.I will never ever drop it again,i felt so bad yesterday. Is there any vitamins, exept cuttlebone that I need to buy?

Your problem with basking is that your turtle may be like mine, he hates having anyone in the room with him where he can see them. Now he basks fine. He's in a rubbermaid container that is 10 gallons and his basking dock is on the side closet to the door of my room but his basking dock is low enough in the tank that he can't see us until we are halfway into the room, and he basks now. Also I leave the room alone when he is basking, so that there are no interruptions (though now I leave the lights on at night only now and he has to put up with me sleeping in the room, but I think he's ok with it.) So that may be the problem.

Not really toys for turtles, though I have heard of people putting pingpong balls in the tank. But fake plants are the best for them and also if you mean stuff for fun or exercise, get feeder fish for them to chase after and then eat.

How long was the drop and are you sure there are no other injuries/symptoms?

5 inches shouldn't be much of a problem.

I don't think turtles hold grudges.

This must have been asked before in another of your posts--what is the temp of the water and what is the temp of the basking area?
