Keep the room nice and quiet and the water at a nice warm temp (82 degrees) until you take them to a vet. I hope they recover fast and well!

Hope this helps!! Get ther asap. If I have a right diagnosis, I think your turtle has worms. They'll de-worm the second turtle for free. They realy are great.

Hi there,

Well, I ended up changing the water in the tank and getting the temp to 82 degrees and what a difference. Within a day, back to normal. Before it was in the mid to low 70s. Im in the process of getting a bigger tank and should have it within a week.

Thanks for the vet info but I live in NYC and don't have/need a car normally. The world is a safer place with me off the road lol.

How does a tankbound turtle get worms anyway???

If you feed live food (especially fish) the chance that your turtle could get worms/parasites exists...

They could have come already equiped with worms.

I also heard that raw vegetables can sometimes carry worms or eggs. That's why you're supposed to wash them really well before eating them.

Here, Here! I've had turtles since 1988 & went thru the same thing back then as you....there was very little or no info about turtle care back then.
