Urgent Care :: One of my two baby turtles just died today T_T

Well, its been awhile since my turtle died, my other turtle is doing very well. I brought my turtle to a vet and got a check up, the vet said my turtle was fine. I also cleaned my whole tank out with hot water too. My turtle also seems to be very happy and is having fun with his new buddy (a hatchling RES my cousin gave me).

first of all, sorry to hear that you lost one of your turtles. i can relate to your situation because i too lost a baby turtle in august 2005. mine had white stuff growing all over and to me it looked like chicken pox.

right now the one turtle that i have left is big and healthy. i have gravel on the bottom of my tank; blue gravels. my turtle never eats them. in fact, during the year and a half that i had my turtle, i've tested him with many toys and other "materials". seems like my turtle knows what to eat and what not to eat

Did you quarantine the new turtle before you added it with your older turtle? Considering you had problems before, it would be a good thing to do so you don't lose another turtle..

Carol is right. You shouldn't take a chance that this new turtle is okay. It's better to be safe than sorry.

BTW, I'm glad to hear you took the other turtle for a check up!! Kudos to you!!
