Urgent Care :: Sick Turtle?

How big is your turtle? a bit over 4"
How long have you had it? less than 1 month

What is the water temperature? 78
Are you using a water heater? yes
How much water is in there? 8"
Are you using a water conditioner? No
Are you using any filtration? Yes

What is the basking temperature? 73
Is there a basking light? yes
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? turtle dock large floating
Is there a UVB light? yes

What have you been trying to feed it? turtle food from pet store
When was the last time your turtle ate? ???

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 40 gal
Is the tank near a window? no
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? no

Have you read the Basic Care section? skimmed it
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? no

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? lethargic, bubbles coming out of its mouth; eyes look milky and barely open

Bump up the water to 82, separate him from other turts if there are any and look for a herp vet ASAP. If he can't swim properly, you should dry dock him and re-hydrate him regularly.

I would take your turtle to see a herp vet. But in the meantime you could bump your water temps up to about 80 and your basking temp should be at least 10 degrees higher than your water temp.

do you supplement his diet with anything other than pellets? any vitamins or calcium?

and can you post a picture if possible?

How is the turtle doing? He sounds like he has an RI from your description. Have you taken him to a herp vet?
