Urgent Care :: Bubbles?!

I just watched my turtle on the basking rock and while he was on there he started to prepare to jump off but before he did he Coughed/burped/threw up bubbles from his mouth. All that has happened is i let him run in my room for a few and then put him under a basking lamp to try to force shedding since i think that he is starting to pyramid. could this be a sign of stress( this all started, the free roaming and the basking, at about 6 30 andended at 6 50)

could it just be a sign of stress or could it have eaten somthin? i have a carpeted room and she might have eaten string or somthin. Right now she is bsking with her head down on the rock in the corner.

... I'm not following here... you might be over-reacting if there are some bubbles in there. What do mean by forced shedding? That sounds dangerous and not technically possible.

Perhaps being out was a little too stressful, I'd give her some alone time to relax and regain a sense of security and then watch for behavioral signs of distress or not eating. Turtles ( at least my turtle) are finicky and I find the fewer changes they experience the happier that they are.

i read from a passage, from cprcheetah and zeke, that if you leave a turtle in a rubbermaid with a heating light over top for a few minutes, you can help induce shedding th scutes (she hasnt shed her scutes and have started to pyramid. and by bubbles, i saw her jerk her head back, as if coughing, and a few bubbles came out of her mouth as if she got water in her lungs and was trying to get rid of it.

Shedding isn't going to totally reverse pyramiding. Have you changed the diet and cut back on the amount of food/protien you are feeding? You can't make them shed if they aren't ready to shed. Putting them in the UVB/sun if they are having problems shedding may help but it won't force it to happen.

Can you post a pic of the shell dry? Does your turtle not have a basking area with proper lighting to bask under? Retained scutes will/should eventually shed. With pyramiding, the diet needs to be adjusted to slow down growth.

ok. its not that the sheddings the problem here(though i love the advise) but what im woried about is the bubbles that she "coughed" up (not sure that it really is.)

its only occured once ever. she seems fine for now but still...

The shedding has nothing to do with pyramiding. Pyramiding has to do with their overall health and nutrition. The ONLY reason I did forced shedding with Zeke is he was retaining his scutes for like several months. I only did it as he was growing algae etc under the peeling parts.
