    Walnut's shell is shedding! It has been for quite some time now and I just now saw a piece flake off.

    I took her out of the water and found no soft, rotten, black, or white spots. I did find more places that are ready to flake off. {I also found a tiny, tiny bit of algae but I'm sure that is normal.}

    Help? Or should I not be worried, is this how she grows?

    Thanks!
    Johnny
    :lol:

    {EDIT: She is not lethargic or lacking an appetite in any way, what so ever.}

No need to worry. Your turtle is growing and needs to shed the old shell. As long as the area under the shedding isn't soft or smelly, it's just normal shedding.

I agree with CountryGirl68. It's just normal shedding. A quick question, what is an EASY way to get a picture under your username?

Under your profile, you can paste the properties for a picture you want to post (at the bottom of the profile page). If it's a picture you have at home, you first need to upload it into a free photo webhosting site, such as photobucket.

Sounds like normal skin shedding. You can take a tooth brush and gently scrub the algae off his shell, under lukewarm running water. I do this about once a week for my Zeke.
