Very sorry you lost him. If you had him two months, he could have had something when you got him and the symptoms took time to show. Just curious, but how long was he on that diet of fish, mealworms and shrimp?

i started the shrimp pretty soon after the pellets and he would only want the shrimp treats. its pet store bought shrimp, reptotreat. i would still put pellets in with it. i just started the feeder fish and mealworms like a week ago. do u think it was the food? i almost feel like it was something he ate.. maybe something from his tank?

I don't know if it was the food, but the diet could have played a part in his illness. A diet of shrimp, feeder fish and mealworms is really unbalanced, and a growing hatchling really needs a balanced diet to be healthy. If he had an infection, his diet may not have given him the nutrients he needed to help fight it. Just curious, but was his shell soft at all?

thanks for all the feedback. no his shell was fine. he looked physically fine. i knew he was really sick, his behavior was not at all normal. he was always very lively and yesterday he was practically motionless. i did see him have a gaping mouth at one time, like he starting panting. but his eyes were closed most of the day. *cries* aww, just talking about it makes me wanna cry...
