Previously one trutle had some white dots on its shell. After a while the dots disappeared. But the white dots are reappearing again. Just to refresh the guys that read that topic, the dots were on the shell appearing to be painted, but it was not this. Is this a big problem?

What was the consensus last time? I recall you posting something like that but can't remember details. The two things that come to mind are mineral deposits or shell rot. Neither of those will just go away on their own. Do you have pics?

Not sure I can take a good pic of the shell without squandering a whole film roll, I stink at close up photography.

How frequently is a turtle supposed to bask. The turtle basks more than the other ones (alot). Is this an RI in its early stages?

I cant see it being related to RI or anything like that, but I've never had a sick turtle either. Now that I think of it, one of my turts had a couple of white spots on her carapace a couple months ago and they have since disappeared. I didn't think much of it because I knew it wasn't rot but I never did figure out what it was. I assume there are no other unusual symptoms (mouth breathing, bubbles from nose or mouth, swollen eyes)? Better to wait for someone more experienced to chime in on this one.

Do the dots come off at all if you rub at them?

I don't know if this is normal, but my turtle gets white spots before he sheds his shell, it's where the water and air gets underneath them before they come off I think.

No. They don't rub off (probably the case with paint). I think it's probably what blaydes has.
