I bought my red eared slider from a girl at school and it has its shell is flexible by its shell should I be worried? and also to the right of the flexible spot her shell is a light whitish color not sure what it is. I looked up shell rot and it doesn't look anything like that. I had a friend of mine look and she told me to put povidone-iodine solution and antibiotic ointment on it but that doesn't seem to be working! as far as I know my turtle is about 2 years old and 3 inches wide about 3.5 long

At that age/size the shell should be hard. I'd go over her diet, make sure she's basking, has calcium in her diet and is getting some UVB.
