Urgent Care :: Is my musk turtle trying to kill my red eared slider?

Hello I have a question and am very concerned. I saw my musk turtle make weird hand movements, as in trying to grab my red eared sliders face and my red eared slider fought by biting back. Now they are fine but since this happened for at least 10 minutes, will my musk turtle be a hazard now? My tank I admit is very small because I didn't expect the musk turtle to get as big as it is now. Thanks in advance.

If either is a male, you most likely are looking at separation. It's good that you caught it now and can move fast. Also good is that musks are smaller, so you won't need a large tank (by RES standards).

My musk turtle is actually big though and they are both females my turtles

Were they raised together? I'd keep a close eye on it and be prepared to move them apart.

I bought them together and have had them for less than a year (about 6 months now) but they were raised in different stores

Do you know what caused the problem or was it just bullying?
