Actually, no it's not fine. Water that is too warm even by a few degrees can cause health issues just as much as water that's too cold. Water for a hatchling should be kept at a constant 78 degrees. Too warm of water will cause fast growth that can be taxing to the internal organs. If you do not have a proper set-up it's hard to maintain the correct temps and a healthy environment.

I second all of that. Imagine if you had one tiny room to live in with no A/C. In the summer it gets really hot. Imagine in the winter you have no heat and it gets really cold. And no one comes to clean your mess...the one that you are forced to leave in your tiny room, because you don't have access to a toilet. So you are forced to live in your own filth. And you never get to see the sun. You have no outside window. Well, that's basically what you are forcing your turtle to do. He/she can't help the environment that you placed it in. He can't help himself out of the problem. Your turtle is a living breathing thing and it deserves the best life possible.

i am worried for your turtle shellie. just because the turtle is fine now doesnt mean hes going to stay fine. its vital to have the proper set up. i think you need to spend more time reading on this website for the care you need to give your turtle. please do so, so that he can stay healthy!

And you could have just taken the advice given (or not) and moved along. Instead you kept begging for the same thing. We're getting tired of it. If you know so much about what you are doing, then why isn't your turtle eating, and why isn't he in a proper set up? Why is the temp too high? Why is it that you can't seem to understand that you don't have it all right? We don't aim to be mean, but don't ask for advice if you don't want to listen to it. No one is telling you want to do, just offering advice for better care.

Enough, please. Name-calling isn't going to help anything.

Shellie, you said you've read up on how to care for your baby, and that's good (it's also good he's eating). Now take what you've read here and elsewhere and put it into practice to improve whatever needs to be improved so that your turtle will be healthy and happy. Members are here to help, but you have to meet them halfway.

I don't see this thread moving in a constructive direction, so I'm locking it.
