When you go to the vet, and if he does have RI, see if you can get oral baytril as opposed to injectible. I dont know if its better/worse than injectible but it will be much lighter on your wallet.

I’m sorry to have to say this, but Volkl is no more. She recovered very slowly, then my brother and I had to leave for a missions trip for a week, and the water was not cleaned at all for another 4 days after, and Volkl started acting sick again, and our parents refused to take her to a vet, saying that they had already spent enough money and didn’t want to spend any more. A day or two later, she was listing very badly, and then would just lay down on her basking dock occasionally sticking her neck up and gasping and by the next day, she was dead.
