How big is your turtle? 8 inches long 5 inches wide
How long have you had it? 25 years

What is the water temperature? 74-80
Did you use a thermometer? Yes
Are you using a water heater? Not now
How much water is in there? 25 gallons
Are you using a water conditioner? Sulfur block Dr turtle
Are you using any filtration? 2 cascade pumps

What is the basking temperature? N/A
Is there a basking light? No, never. Just sun.
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? Yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? Styrofoam
Is there a UVB light? No

What have you been trying to feed it? Reptomin pellets
When was the last time your turtle ate? 3 days ago

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 55 gallon
Is the tank near a window? Yes
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? No

Have you read the Basic Care section? Yes
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? Yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? He's turning red. Not his shell just skin. We moved 4 months ago so water source has changed. I just noticed the spots on his tail and pull him out when I noticed the rest.

We think it might be septicemia. Could you find a herp vet?

Yes. He does and active. He was diagnosed with septicemia Friday. He's getting a shot of baytril daily and ceftazidime. He started Friday but the red has spread further. The vet suggested betadine bath 2x day. Or blood work which really will only tell them what's wrong, but not much else they can do.

Some RES live for decades... I think 30-40 years should be somewhat normal. Sorry about the diagnosis, hopefully there will be improvement real soon.
