UPDATE: Claire swims around and basks on her own but her eyes continue to be closed and she has some nose bubbles still. She has still not eaten since before the initial post. 2 months? I'm leaving for Florida next week so my roommate will care for her until I get back but when I get back (on the 26th) we're going back to the vet. Shots are probably in the near future~!

She likely won't eat unless she can see. Try strong smelling treats for her. Maybe egg whites? What kind of UVB are you using?

Honestly I thought your pics were of my guy, Larry. But for the shorter nails they could be twins!

Larry's symptoms mirror your gals and we waited and let the vet move cautiously... First dealing with drops and assuming a vitamin deficiency.... All against my gut instincts... And now he's fighting pneumonia.

If she is not back to her old self by now, I strongly encourage you to get her to the vet ASAP and insist they look closer at a respiratory illness. It's worth it to know she's getting the right meds to give her a fighting chance.

I feel for you... I'm hovering over my post that I made on this board waiting for anyone to respond to our latest worry. It's agonizing. I hope you report back that she's 100%!!

I hope things are getting better.

What kind of UVB do you use? The coil type are known for hurting the eyes.

The heat bulb is a 75 watt frosted house bulb (thanks to Kansasslider ;) ) and I forgot what brand of UV I got because I threw the box but it's a 5.0 compact- her UV light has not been on this last week because I read the article about 5.0 compacts having some nasty eye effects and that taking it away for up to 2 weeks has resolved the issue in the past.

The light thing has been discussed. And I use Repti Glo CFL's with no eye problems.
