Right now I am already planning for what I will need to do. I am making decisions on building an indoor pond, or buying a 220 gallon. Then I have to wonder what if they need seperated. Then could I put a divider in a 220. Then do I need to filters? Etc. Not to mention that I have a female and I will need a nesting area. So...just a lot of things to consider.

Juicejames, read this for some basic info:

and

Check the photo gallery to see how people arrange their tanks. Also, don't keep a tank near a window (direct sunlight will fry your tank, breezes can make your turtle sick and you will have general difficulty maintaining water and ambient air temperature)

I would say not to get another one until you know you have the space, time and money to support more.

Missibsu, I've heard of people using egg crate (light diffusers) to create a tank divider. ;)

Juicejames, also remember turtles are not the kind of pets that you can handle and play with. They also may not be sociable, so I would definitely wait until you have the experience and resources to be comfortable with adding another turtle.

I have seen a number of ways to do this. Some are with plexi-glass and holes drilled in it. Small enough to allow water current, but not turtles or body parts to get stuck. My main problem is, I want something permanent so that I don't have to go making changes every so often...and I don't know what I want, lol. Not to mention that I am not even in a permanent location yet. So. That is where I stand. Thanks for the tip though, I hadn't thought of or I have never seen the egg crate done!

If you're serious about getting another turtle, do some reading on what they need to live healthy and happy lives. Just "having in idea" about how to raise them isn't enough...Concentrate on giving the turtle you still have a good home.
