ok, i just noticed on my baby turt, whom i have had for almost 3 months, has developed white 0's on his shell, like circles. very tiny but they are there. his shell has also became whiter, like not as green and bright as it was when i obught him. he is eating and basking normally. the basking temp is 88 degrees and water is 78. what could it be? is it fatal or is it normal?

Do the white spots come off if you rub them gently? Do they appear when he's in the water or are they there all the time? Do any of the scutes look like they're going to lift up at all around the edges? Can you post a pic of the shell dry?

Does your turtle have a UVB light in addition to the basking/heat light?

Has your turtle grown a lot since you've gotten him? If so, what is he being fed, how much and how often?

How often is the water changed and the tank cleaned?

ok, i usually change the water about every 3 weeks. i have a UVB and a UVA light. and yes he has grown ALOT since i got him. i feed him reptomin baby and a few crickets occasionally and thats it. i dont think the white spots come off when i rub them. and i think they are only when hes in the water. and no none of the scutes look like trhey will lift off. ill try to get a pic soon.
also, on the bottom of the shell, like under the turt. it looks like there is some brown spots. like brusies on an apple. i think he has had them since i got him but im not sure.

those brown spots are perfectly normal, they're the blood viens i believe.

I don't know what is meant by "blood veins." On sliders, each scute on the plastron usually has some sort of brown blotch. Is this what you mean? If not, a pic of the plastron dry would also be good.

could the white shell, like lighter in color, mean hes shedding again? because i looked lastnight and there is like more shell growing around his. like its clear but its growing more, so could that be why is shell is lighter?
