I have three baby RES, and there is one turtle in special that has these white dots on its caparace that look as if someone spilled tiny drops of correction fluid on it. In addition, they are roughly 1/16 of an inch apart. These markings have appeared several weeks ago.

Are they on the shell (can they be rubbed off) or part of the shell? Can you post a pic of the shell dry? The condition could be the result of any one of number of things, and actually seeing the area could help to narrow them down.

Pictures are seldomly taken at my house, so I'll illustrate it as well as I can.

Over the last few days the white dots have grown to a light brown color, and viewed under special care, look like tiny o's. They seem to be set in the shell, and seem to have appeared after the turtle seemed to refuse to eat and was a little sluggish for a day.

Has there been any change in color/appetite?

There have been no changes in apetite and the turtle is adequately active. The color of the dots, ever since they have changed color, remain a light brownish color.
