Urgent Care

Why is kurby sleeping do much i put up a heat lamp last night (i do not have a d3 lamp but i try to take him outside a least an hour a day till i get a mvb lamp). and now he was sleeping form 10pm to 1pm the next day the only resion he woke up is becaulse i made him (and he was under the lamp the whole time.) i just wan't to know if this is normal or if he is getting sick .

i have only had him for a week and im working my hardest to get him what he needs. he can't be sick i love him so much and he is a baby. i can't loose him

i don't have a water heater yet so i am keeping my hous at 78 F

Air temp and water temp might not match up. What kind of heat lamp are you using?

And you're using it at night? They should go to sleep at night when the lights are out. Lamps are also not substitutes for water heaters, you'll need to get that too if you don't have it. 100 watt might also be too warm, you should measure his basking temps too.

No im not using it at night and he will go to sleep when i turn out the light. I know that it's not a substitute for a water heater im going to get one of those for him this weekend.and i now have a 60 incandescent in a turtle heating lamp and he will sleep there to i know that his basking area does not get above 90 F he loves to sleep there to is that normal?

They usually sleep in water, though some on occasion will sleep in their basking areas.

Is it normal for him to be sleeping on the water surface? ( i thing he found it ezer to slepp that way so he wount have to come up for air)

or did he just find an ex way to sleep. But he wakes up just like normal

How is he otherwise? He's so small, so it's easy for him to float.

Is there something for him to stand on in the water that is high enough that he can "sit" on it and still get air?

I have a couple plastic plants that mine like to sit/hold onto while he snoozes.
