Hi. I have a couple of adopted, fairly mature RES in my backyard pond. The smaller of the two has an odd looking rounded, reddish sac hanging out of his cloaca, and I'd like to know if anyone can advise me what this could be (I read about fanning their penis, but if that's a penis, then I'll be shocked--it's about the size of a small ping pong ball and rounded, sack-like). FYI, the turtle's shell has scales flaking off, which I assumed was something to do with growing.
Lastly, I bought koy food pellets that I thought the turtles would eat, but they don't seem to, so I don't really feed them. I have a large pond w/ a lot of floating plants, so I've assumed they will get enough food on their own. Any suggestions?
