Earlier when I was taking my Red Eared Slider out of his tank to get some exercise, I noticed that he was making wheezing sounds. This is the first time I have noticed this, and am very alarmed that it could be a respiratory infection. Due to my location, finding a vet that accepts animals such as turtles does pose a bit of a problem, and would rather not immediately trying to find one. That being said, I wont hesitate at all if it is needed and there is thought that my turtle could be getting very sick. I'm just curious if this could truly be leading up to a RI, or maybe he just startled..Or something.
My turtle is leading up to being two years old, and is currently living in a 40 gallon tank, with the best heater and filter systems I could afford. He is eating properly, and basking/sleeping normally as far as I can tell.
Any input would be great, and thank you in advance for any answers!
