If the skin is dry and there is a white appearance, it could be calcium/mineral deposits. I'm not sure if you're referring to the same thing. Have you made any changes to the setup?

Yes. My brother took her to the vet today. When the vet came then she said that our turtle had a little bit of infection. The bottom of her shell was a little pink instead of being yellow! She gave her some multivitamins and to soak her in it for around 20 minutes. The vet also had to force feed her as she had not been eating for a long time. As Tappy was not taking out her arms and legs then the doctor had to pull them out. When we asked her whether it is hurting her then she said that it was nothing. The vet also suggested to attach a bulb near her tank so that she feels warm the entire time. She suggested us to put a 6o volt bulb. Should we put that or another one?

Did she say what type of infection? What kind of bulb are you using?

No she didn't specify the type of infection. We are using a 60 volt bulb.

When we soaked the turtle in the medicine recommended by the vet then she started eating a little and did not sleep the entire time. She has even started escaping from her tank whenever we keep her for soaking. We have decided to now set up a proper place for her. That is why I wanted to ask you what I can put for my turtle so that she doesn't get sick!

All aspects of turtle keeping are important for their well being. First is stable water temperature, then in no specific order: basking, filtration, diet, uvb and calcium.

I took her to the vet again and she again force fed my turtle and even gave her a Vitamin A injection as her eyes are sticking together. She said that due to not eating she is also having Vitamin deficiency due to which her eyes are swollen, pink being unable to be opened. She says that my turtle will recover in a month's duration. The medicines which the vet had given for soaking were a Turtle Feed Supplement by the name of 'B- Fish' and a Multivitamin Supplement by the name of 'Canvitol'. She said that the bulb was for maintaining a warm temperature around the dry area of the tank.

Well, you don't need an injection of vitamin A, you can apply cod liver oil or use medications that contain it. Were her eyes completely closed? Has she been eating or when was the last time she ate?

Yes her eyes are completely closed. Her eyes are sticking together from which she is unable to open her eyes. She has not been eating that frequently but I saw some crumbs in her tank 2 to 3 days ago.

Crumbs can just be pellets broken up

Did the vet offer an antibiotic for the eyes?

No not yet but my mom thinks that if the doctor prescribes some cod-liver oil or eye drops for her eyes then maybe she will become well!

You can get cod liver oil from a large supermarket or drugstore, but would only work if its caused by a deficiency.
