I have some more but I think I will give it to my friend with fish. When I add water to the tank, which I do every other day because it evaporates, do I put the chlor out in it or just the turtle conditioner? Maybe I put too much stress coat in the water when I added the water. What is the difference between Reptisafe and Chlor out?

Here's a description of what Reptisafe will do:

Instant Terrarium Water Conditioner. Removes chloramines and chlorine while neutralizing toxic ammonia. Provides essential ions and electrolytes needed for reptile health and well-being.

Here's what I could find on Chlor out:

Wardley Essentials™ Chlor Out™ safely and effectively neutralizes
chlorine and chloramines in tap water.

Reptisafe does more and is more widely available. Chlor out is probably fine for removing chlorine although I found some discussion on a website that it's not a good choice when the municipal water has been treated with chloramine. Chloramine is less commonly used, most municipal water is still treated with chlorine. Do you know how your municipal water is treated?

No I don't know about my water except it has a water softner from Rainsoft installed on it and I buy blocks of salt to put in it. I don't know how much chlorine it has. I will buy Reptisafe and use that, no problem. I want the best for my babies.
Sorry I posted the same thing twice but I am still learning how. Also I have printed the page on how to post pictures and registered in photobucket and still can't figure out how to get pictures from one site to another. I am not very good at computers. My 13 year old son will have to teach me or someone. I have taken alot of pictures to show you the set up and the turtles so when I figure it out I will post them.

I'm no computer whiz either. It took me a while to figure out how to post pictures. However, I imagine having a 13 year old son on the premises will give you a great advantage!

Are you able to get your photos onto photobucket?

Yes I am able to get the pictures on Photobucket. But to copy and paste doesn't work. I maybe can copy onto Microsoft word and then back to the forum I will try that. My son is too busy to help me, he is on his computer playing games.
I looked at Kamikazes eyes this morning and they look 99 percent better. I think it was a combination of too much stress coat, and the UVB light being too close. I moved the light farther away and put it on again and I will check him tonight. If it happens again I will buy a different light or take him to the vet or both. I also put the drops in his eyes again and also in Brownies eyes just in case it is a Vitamin A problem. They are eating the Reptomin baby just fine though. I gave them some natural shrimp last night for a treat and they enjoyed it they also eat red and green lettuce and carrots fine .
Do you know anything about fidler crabs? The small pet store I went to had some in their turtle tank and said the turtles don't eat them. They eat the left over food and waste. I was thinking about getting some unless you tell me not too.

On photobucket, under each thumbnail photo you have four code options. Click on the one that says "IMG Code". That will create a copy of the code in your computer's memory.

Then, come to this thread and under "quick reply", click "preview".

Scroll down a little to you get to the area where you can edit a post. Click on the Img button, and [img] will appear in the text box.

Then put the cursor next to where it says [img] in the text box and paste what's in your computer's memory there.

Then click again where it says Img and [/img] will appear at the end of the code line in the text box.

Then, at the bottom of the page click Preview and you should be able to see your photo in the preview box. If everything looks ok, you can then click Submit.

If you are thinking of painting the inside of the lamp, use a high temperature paint.

Here's the stuff I used. It's flat black but I've been told white is good also:



This is how the inside of my lamp looks like now. Make sure to remove or cover the lamp socket with masking tape:



Also, the position of the lamp must be considered. Horizontal mounts (like mine) expose much more UVB to the basking area than if it were mounted vertically.

Thanks Grey Goose, I will check into that paint, I like your light fixture. Thanks Spotsmama I think I figured it out with that last post. The picture is not very clear, it was on photobucket. Kamikaze is on top of the bridge and Brownie is the smaller one. They always bask together. I will try again later with another picture.
