Urgent Care :: fighting and stuck together

My 18 yr old is watching the turtles while we are out of town. they have been fighting a lot lately (one just keeps biting the other). I know it's time to get rid of one, but she said one of them seems to be stuck inside the other's shell = trying to bite the other one, and got his head stuck by the sounds of it.

I'm sure they will dislodge by themselves, but is there anything she can do to help it out? She doesn't want to just pull...

Have they been separated yet? Being in the shell is probably just a defense mechanism.

I haven't talked to her yet...I'm hoping they are apart. I have to get rid of one fast before it kills the other, but I didn't know they COULD be stuck together!

Did she check for injuries? Separation sucks, I wish there was an easier solution.

All is good. We found a home for one of them, so we won't having the fighting anymore. We didn't want to do it, but better than having 2 dead turtles.
