you can get syringes with dull needles from inkjet refill companies. Most states regulate sharp needles, but the dull ones that the inkjet refill companies sell are legal. Nice! that's a good idea.

It's been difficult getting her the meds but not totally impossible. I've been doing my best to reward her right afterwards- so maybe she'll remember that it's a positive thing even though it tastes bad. I'm just glad I'm about 1/2 way done with the bottle of antibiotics.

I did notice some weirdness with her skin though, it seems to have turned to a blush color. Maybe this means the antibiotics are helping more than just her shell? Or maybe the doc spotted something I didn't originally? She's also been doing better on her shed- nearly done (this has been the longest lasting one ever)

Yeah it's the skin on her rear area, behind her feet. It started to blush a couple of days ago and now her skin is shedding like mad.

Like in the webbing or next to the tail? Can you post a picture?

Yeah, in like the areas that her skin attaches to her shell it's pink. I'll get a picture tonight and post.

Though I had a good update on the antibiotics. Last night I picked her up, and she opend her mouth like a good girl, and let me squirt the meds in. I guess she's given in.

Haven't had a chance to get a picture yet, been sick with the flu. Hopefully I'll get some this weekend. Though I did notice the pinkish color is lessening.

Alright, antibiotics are done, and pinkish tinge is completely gone. *whew* Also I've been washing her with novlasin and a tooth brush every day, and making her play outside the water for at least 1 hour. The white crusties for the most part have lifted from the pits on her shell.. so it's slow going but seems to be getting better.
