Urgent Care :: Eye Issues, Vet appointment booked.

Thought I would update this. Took Merlin to the vet yesterday night. He's a ok.
His eye isn't swollen or irritated anymore but I still took him anyway. They did
a stool sample and he's in tip top shape.

Glad he's feeling better. Did you use the cod liver oil?

I did for about 2 days before his appointment. I've since stopped with no issues arising.
He's still getting carrots (very small amount) daily.

She (the vet) didn't do blood work because he's so little. (3" and 1/4")
Next year he's going to get some done just to be safe.

I forgot to mention, he fell asleep on my hand while waiting for the vet. It was cute.

What else do you feed him? Sliders can eat a good variety of veggies. A lot of people only feed their turtles every other day the amount of turtle pellets that would fit in their head (not including the neck). I feed my 5 inch RES half a head every day. Like 4 pellets. ( a little less than half a head) a leaf of red leaf lettuce, or green leaf lettuce, romain lettuce or a couple of leaves of dandelion greens. One of those daily. Twice a week he'll get a couple of carrot shavings or if I've gone to the pet store he gets the water plants anacharis or hornwort. Sometimes he gets a beetle or two that the kids catch coming into the house. Or an earthworm from my yard. On the days he gets the live food he gets no pellets. He's already had his protein for the day. Twice a week he gets a couple of bite size pieces of cuttle bone. Oh and I just put some ghost shrimp in my tank for clean up. Unfortunately my turtle thought it was Christmas and had a feast. No clean up crew left.

But then I thought, in order to figure out what happened you ask questions LOL.

Just as a reference this is what his diet is currently:

Romain/green leaf/red leaf daily.
2cmx1cm piece of carrot daily.
pellets (size of head) daily.
a little Tomato weekly

He's also getting some crickets weekly and a minnow next week.

He also has been eating some kale and Duckweed.

I have cuttle bone in their daily.

Treats he has had recently was: small bit of banana and apple but he didn't like the apple.

I'm glad you realized the questions weren't meant to offend you. It's as you said trying to figure things out. Glad to see he's getting a good variety of things.
