Urgent Care :: No eggs yet this year, Worried.

My RES hasn't had any eggs yet this year. I felt for them but couldn't feel anything. I was careful so not to crush or crack an egg. She has had them the past couple years, but not yet this year. (To the best of my knowledge.) In past years I have found them in her tank water. This year I got her a pool, and she may of had them in there without me noticing. Although I've been keeping a close watch for them. I have given her a place to dig or nest in the past, but she never shows any real interest in it. It's like she wants to find a mate first to fertilize her eggs . "Just a guess."
My question is: Should I take her to the vet, and have an X-ray done? Or should I keep trying the nesting area?

How big is your turtle? 6 x 8 inch, give or take.
How long have you had it? 10 years

What is the water temperature? 70 - 75
Did you use a thermometer? Yes
Are you using a water heater? No
How much water is in there? 100 Gal.
Are you using a water conditioner?No
Are you using any filtration? Yes, Canister filter

What is the basking temperature? 80 - 85
Is there a basking light? Yes, 1 full spectrum 60w bulb, and 1 UVB lamp.
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? Yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? Rock, Slate
Is there a UVB light? Yes

What have you been trying to feed it? Turtle Pellets, a small amount of Banana, Sometimes a couple worms and bugs.
When was the last time your turtle ate? Yesterday, she eats well. Never refusing any food.

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? She has 100 gal 2x2x4 ft. indoor tank. 2x2 ft. basking area. A 2x2x2 ft. nesting area, with a mix of soil, sand, and some organic material. She has the run of the room she is in, with a ramp up to her tank. then she spends the day in her pool on sunny days and comes in at night. She has a very good and happy life. We love her and try to give her as close to a healthy turtle life as possible.

Is the tank near a window? Yes
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? Yes, but she never seems to mind. She comes down and interacts we our family of four. We hold her, give her warm baths, She is always very interested in us, and what we are doing. When it happens around her.

Have you read the Basic Care section? Yes, among other publications.
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? Yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? No.

I wouldnt bother with an xray, its inside and has no male with that egg laying can be completely random when and or happen not at all. You just got lucky that she laid the last couple time around the same time. I wouldnt worry about it at all.

Yeah, I think your right. I really gave her a good examination, and I couldn't feel any eggs in there. Either side. My Girl and I just talked about it and decided to at least give her another week. She is eating fine, she's active. Seems happy as ever, and not doing anything or acting out of the ordinary.
The X-Ray and visit will cost me $115.00. Not that I wouldn't if I thought she needed it. I just don't think she does.

Nice setup! I wouldnt worry. They don't always lay eggs..sometimes they will go years without doing so or not at all
