Is he trying to get out or just digging at the glass?

my turt thrashed around alot, and swam from side to side. It was not the water that she disliked; but she was trying to tell me that her space was too confining.
Once I upgraded her to a 55-gal, she became peaceful.
What size is your tank? How big is your turt? What temp is the water? Have you read through the basic guides on this forum?

Do you have a thermometer & heater? I'm wondering if what feels warm to you might feel uncomfortable to your turtle.

when i walk up to my tank, my turtle starts scratching at the side right next to me, always has, im pretty sure she just wants to be fed more and more, it's her form of begging for food, i have a 180 gallon so i don't think it's a size issue, she has a basking area, she'll frequently dive into the water from the basking area to do it, it happens mostly when it's dinner time, after dinner time she usually doesn't do it.

Do you have a basking spot in the pool? Like a little island or rock that he can get out of the water and dry himself off when he wants to?
