I'm in China right now. I got a RES from a aquarium with no thought that it was sick and that it needed many things to live. They just put him in a tiny conainer with small peices of gravel and said that we just needed to give it water. When I got back and researched about Red eared sliders, I was shocked to know all the things red eared sliders need. I have none of the things at the moment. I put my RES in a bigger container and I put it near a window that gets sun for 1 hour a day. My RES only ate a tiny bit of roast chicken and one tiny peice of romaine lettuce. I'm feeding it all kinds of foods right now. I'm returning home to the U.S.A. in two weeks. I'm pretty sure he has an eye infection because he always closes his eyes. He doesn't move much. His shell is about 1.5 inches. I only put a little water in the container because when I put a lot of water in, he swam around fast, bumping into the walls of the container as if he wanted to get out. When I took him out, he relaxed. I really need some ideas to keep him alive. I do regret getting him because if I can't take him on the plane, what will happen to him? Please, I need ideas-quick. I don't have a way to keep the water warm, so that probably will be a problem. I do have a big rock that he can sort of bask on, but since he doesn't move, he doesn't go on it anymore. When I first got him, he moved around a lot. The reason that he doesn't move now is that I used tap water as his swimming water so I made his eye infection worse. I went to buy a big bottle of spring water today. I've had my RES for about a week. I don't wanna see him die, so please help!
