We inherited a RES from my daughter's school. We were told that she had shell rot, but I don't think that's it. Her accommodations are admittedly rudimentary. We don't have the cash to spend on much more than we already have, so accumulating a filter, larger tank, etc... is taking some time.
Anyway, we have her dry-docked for several days to dry her shell out, thinking it may be a fungus. She gets a betadine paint for 10 minutes, a rinse, and then bathes for an hour or two a day. Is this a sound direction? Any ideas as to what the problem is? Help!
