Urgent Care :: My RES Turtle Drowned ! HELP !

When I woke up this morning, my baby RES turtle was stuck, and laying unconscious. His eyes were open and his legs and arms were all out. I scooped him him and put him on the basking area. He started to move a little. I waited for a few minutes and pick him up to see if he's dead or not. He started to move his head and blink. Right now, my turtle is on the rock, under the light and he's just laying there with his arms and legs out. His eyes are open though, but sometimes he closes it. I guess he must be tired. I don't know what to do right now. Will it die? I need to go to school soon, so I should just leave it there until it's conscious right? Please help ! What should I do?

What did your turtle get stuck on? That is the first thing I would be removing or changing in the tank. You don't want him to do it again.

Best you can do is just let him go for now. He should recover after a day or two.

Keep the water temps at 80 and the basking area at 90 degrees. Keep an eye out for sickness. They can develop pneumonia from having water in their lungs.

Be careful he doesn't get dehydrated if he stays on the basking area like that.

Rework your set-up so that he doesn't get "stuck" again.

My turtle is all better now, I put some water on him so he wouldn't get dehydrated. Now, he's just fine. He just looks a little weak. My water temperature is just right.
