My male res has a red sore raw area on the top of his nose. It looks like he was either bitten or scratched.

I need to know how to treat him. Have applied triple antibiotic and taken him out of the water for now and separated him
from the two map turtles he resides with. One male and one female.

He has either been bitten by the female map (that he is hotly pursuing all the time) or one of my cats found a way to get to him. The enclosure is well covered, but there was a small opening I found.

Is there anything else I should do and could the female map have had enough and bitten him or do you think it was more likely a cat. ? Asking because of possible need to separate him from the other two.

Thanks.

How bad is the wound? Is it still bleeding?

Most likely it was the other turtles, but I'm not certain. Can you check him for other injuries?

It looked raw and red, but since I put triple antibiotic on it and it has been overnight, it looks much better . It was a surface wound. There are no other injuries and he is active; but not eating today. He usually wolfes his food.

If my turtles get superficial wounds, I apply antibacterial daily until I'm sure the wound is healing.

I would air dry the wound, apply the antibiotic and dry dock over night.
