what is this stuff? its white and its on my turtle's tank's walls and it looks stringy. it is about 1 cm long , very thin, and i think its moving....

umm ill try to take a picture and no i do not have anything else but squirt my turtle and some gravel, a heater, and like 5 gallons of water

What have you been feeding him? It could be anything... parasites, worms, fly larvae, etc. How big is he? How long have you had him? Can you answer some of the questions that are linked in my signature?

ive been feeding him wardley aquatic reptile pellets, reptomin aquatic reptile pellets, rarely romaine lettuce, and the hats all. he is about a year and a half old i think. he is like less than 3in (7cm)

How big is your turtle?
How long have you had it?

What is the water temperature? i dont know.. less than room temperature
Did you use a thermometer? just got one today and it doesnt seem to work
Are you using a water heater? it doesnt seem to work
How much water is in there? 5 gallons out of a 10 gallon aquarium
Are you using a water conditioner? yes just today
Are you using any filtration? no i got plecos... does that help at all??

What is the basking temperature? above room temperature
Is there a basking light? no he gets some sunlight
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? i bought it, its like a rock in a slope form
Is there a UVB light? no

What have you been trying to feed it? aquatic reptile pellets
When was the last time your turtle ate? i try to feed him but he doesnt eat, all he does is sleep

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 10 gallons
Is the tank near a window? yes
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? yes

Have you read the Basic Care section? no
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? he sleeps alot and rarely eats

OK, I'd clean out the tank, make sure it gets dried out and everything is throughly cleaned up.

Overall, you need to have a better setup. A tank that is too small is not very good for your turtle and it's possible that it drew the attention of flies. This sort of the setup you need: http://www.redearslider.com/startup.html

ok its now cleaned and dried and no more wormy thingies =) but im trying to get a new heater and a basking bulb
