My name is sydney and i recently bought an RES! (yay) I was in chinatown walking around and i found him(or her but i think it might be a male). I named him Benjamen and he must be a few months old. I brought him home and bought new food and tank for him immediately, but he wont eat. Im very worried about this but other than not eating he seems great, he swims and lays around and love to stretch his head out and look at everything. The only other time ive owned a turtle (it was also an RES) was when i was very young so im not very experienced. I put him in a reasonable sized tank for his size, but a have a larger one that holds a goldfish, im not sure if i should keep him in the tank alone or not.

Trying to get him to eat might take time as he is might just be adjusting to his new home. Try to keep feeding him in the tank, and try with a good brand of pellet, maybe small bits of tuna or white chicken meat. Then try live prey like earthworms and feeder fish (hold them in front of his face is can't catch them or doesn't show interest).
