okay i understand this is a turtle website but im hoping for some advice since im sure like me most people on here own more than just turles lol. My two turtles are fine...actually thriving haha. I adopted a female bearded dragon about a year ago she was kept in horrible conditions and man handled by 5 monsters(the kids that owned her before). She was healthy and content little skittish on letting us handle her but soon got used it it. I woke up this morning saw that she had pooped cleaned it up then went about my routine. I looked over at her and saw there was a red bubble sticking out of her bottom. Googled it found out it was called a rectal prolapse. All signs pointed towards vet! called every vet in my city and even outside of my city either they dont have a herp vet in until monday or they dont deal with exotic pets. What can i do about this prolapse?!?!?! Right now ive got her in the tub with some sugar water to try and take down the swelling and get it back in there and keep the area moist. But i cant really keep her in there all weeked. Any ideas?

From what I read the lukewarm sugar water bath should help, also keeping them on a soft food diet for the next few days. One suggestion was to use baby food. Try this site it has a forum, the members there may be more knowledgeable http://www.beardeddragon.org/
