Hi ive been giving my small res turtle that was sick with respiratory infection for the last 2 weeks baytril oral ( after the vet visit). Last night after giving him the drop of baytril i forgot to put it back in the fridge. My house isnt too warm its around 21 degrees. Does it go bad that fast? He has improved huge in the past two weeks, When i took him to the vet he was float couldnt submerge wouldnt eat. Now hes more time in the water than basking, eating on his own(huge appetite) and sinks to the bottom. I spent alot of money on the little guy( people think im crazy) but i felt bad letting him die. Should i be worried or should i just continue with the oral mouth drops? It still looks the same inside the bottle and the bottle wasnt warm or anything please help.

Is he acting completely normal? How close were you to finishing the prescribed treatments? As for the Baytril, I don't think most people on the forum can answer that, but it should be a question for your vet.

hes acting pretty normal like he dives into the water when he senses me now before he would just sit there.. he doesnt float anymore (he can stay at the bottom) hes eating.. the only thing i notice is hes not swimming too much like he can swim but he prefers just to walk across the bottom of the tank and climb his way up to basking areas.. the vet told me to give him the oral antibiotics for 21 days.. tuesday will be 14days i beleive.

I would consult with him agin. He might reduce dosage and or duration, and that's good news!

How long was it out of the fridge? Is it humid in your house? Was it closed properly? If it's 21C like you said, dry and closed and say you only left it out overnight I wouldn't really worry. If it was for a whole day, or if it was outside and open then that's a different story.

When I gave one of my turtles Baytril, I kept the tiny bottle at room temperature. Where I live, room temperature is warm, around 27°C. Your Baytril should be alright. Good job on keeping your turtle alive!
