well a friend of mine came to to me for some help, but i didn't know the answer so I'm coming to you for help, he has a 7 year old fem RES and she didn't lay it's eggs. i felt the abdomen so i know she's got them but i don't know how to convince her to lay, she is healthy and fit and eating a little less then normal (i know she shouldn't eat at all). is their any solution to this, maybe the vet can make her a shot and force her to lay?
it's the middle of September and it's kind of late for them, the eggs are not fertile so he isn't interested in keeping them.

When did he first figure out that she had eggs? Turtles can hold there eggs for months before laying them.

Has she shown any of the signs of wanting to lay eggs? Restlessness, digging with back feet? RES unable to lay eggs might be administered Oxytocin to help induce egg laying.

well she sometimes is restless (but not every night), she sometimes tries to dig in the carpet, but when i put her in a box with sand she stops although i warm up the sans and moist it so she can easily dig... but it puzzles me the fact that she eats normally

When she wants to lay them might depend on the time of day, weather conditions or some other reason. You might be able to anticipate when she will want to and have her in the sand box when it's time.
