I have a RES less than 2" , with an RI , but he was eating and a bit of active , even sometimes acts very normal except that he is lopsided and always floating never able to dive , so I went to vet and he gave it a baytril injection , ever since that day the RES stopped eating and started breathing from mouth and now I see bubbles , the RES isn't moving so as I put it it remains unmoved for more than a day , eyes are now closed most of the time , I may note that today is the fifth baytril injection ? , but is baytril killing him ? , to me looks like the RES will die soon , but before baytril it was just fine (sick but alive) with the fact the he always spend the night dry docked , now does any one know is what happening normal with baytril or something became more wrong due to a bad vet ? PLEASE advice ?

I think baytril is known to cause digestive problems as side effects.
Not sure if it'll make the turtle's condition worse. Usually, people
wait until more RI symptoms are showing before bringing the turtle
to the vet to get medication. I guess what you can do right now
is just wait until the series of Baytril is done and keep enticing the
turtle to eat.

Perhaps others have better ideas?

Good luck. I wish your turtle recovers soon.

Baytril causes a loss of appetite while the turtle is being treated with it. How long has your turtle been on it? How long did the vet say it would take before your turtle would show signs of improvement? If you think that there has been no improvment or your turtle is worse, I would call the vet's office and let them know. Perhaps with a little more time he'll improve; perhaps he would do better on another medication. You need to talk to the vet.

My Turtle died last night :'( , I loved that one very much , it never responded to medication , or maybe the vet was too bad !! , just for everyone , take ur sick animal to a GOOD vet as EARLY as possible don't delay the visit or you might lose something u love :(.

I hope that no one experiences my case ever it is too hard.
