Urgent Care :: Please help!! he's so sick and I can't get the meds down him

Vet gave me oral meds for little crush and I can't get him to open his mouth. He's so sick and I am freaking out. Anyone know how to simplify this. he's very smal. Please help me!

Did the vet demonstrate how to give it to him? Is he eating anything at all and can you mix it into his food?

all the vet did was say it's going to be very difficult to get him to take this. and that was it. He's eating but i don't kow what food i would mix the meds in. i can't even get him to open his mouth, the poor little thing is so scared! I'm just not sure what to do!

Call the vet and ask him how he would get the meds into him. He should be able to give you more info than just telling you it will be difficult...

i had the same experience. she told me it would be difficult to get his mouth open to give him his force fed diet, couldnt even get edward to open his mouth to get a swab sample. he wouldnt bite or hiss, but he did make a barking noise one time. we ended up giving him a series of shots every other day of antibiotics for a week and changing his UVB bulb and he made a full recovery.
