Urgent Care :: Bubble when turtle breathes

Hello all. When my turtle comes out of the water to breathe I notice his neck inflate while he is breathing. I am not sure if this is normal or if this means that he has a respiratory infection. He is about 1 years old I think. I got him from a family member that no longer wished to take care of him, so I am not exactly sure how old he is.

its normal. mine does it, my other turtle does it, my friends turtle does it. its normal

yeah all my turtles do it too, they prob just like blowin bubbles some times

My female blows bubbles sometimes when I pick her up. She acts like a submarine blowing her ballast tanks. My male has rarely blown any bubbles.

Well its not so much bubbles, but his neck inflates when he comes out of the water to breathe. That is what Im worried about.

i know what you mean.. like a bullfrog.. totally normal

Mine do that all the time, just getting as much air in as they can while above the surface I guess.
