that shell rot video, is that how you fix shell rot? and it can kill the turtle aswell right when you do it like that? that would be scary to do ide feel bad for the turtle..

I did a similar procedure, I did not use a pocket knife, I used a metal nail file with a pointed (not sharp) tip and used that to scrape the shell, then poured on hydrogen peroxide and within an hour after the procedure was complete she no longer smelled bad. Her shell has healed great even though I see some scarring...
Also my turtle was not NEARLY as bad as that, not even close.

Novroz - I saw the picture of the before and after you treated your turtle, my turtles spots look similar to that, except they do not flake when touched, it does seem to bother her when I touch them though, so i just leave them alone.

If I am correct you said you think all kinds of fungus treatment should work, this may sound a little ridiculous but do you think then something like a canesten cream (the little one for external use) could be used to treat that since it is made to fight fungal yeast infections? I don't know, its an idea and it would be great if I could because I have some in the house

I am not an expert...and maybe others will tell not to...but I know how it feels not having enough money to go to the vet (unless it's really urgent....I'll try to scrap some money to take them to the vet - which is more expensive than human doctor)...so maybe you could give it a try.

It is for external use so I think MAYBE it won't give too much bad effect. Just remember that you have to let your turtle on the land for 4-6 hours...and then clean the cream till you can not feel its oil anymore...then you can put him back into her tank.

I did that for 5straight days and thanks God it's working.

Thank you very much, I will try it on her next time I see her, Unfortunately I will not be with her for 5 days straight, the maximum 3 but at least that will be something
