I wouldn't be so worried about your turtle not eating for just a few days, they can go for a few weeks with no food (although it's not terribly healthy). Once he's back into the water, just keep offering him food once, maybe twice a day...something smelly, like a piece of canned tuna...might entice him to eat. Every turtle's different, so you might need to try a few different foods that are appetizing to RES. See the feeding links for a list of suggested treat foods. Assuming he heals well, your RES will start to eat on his own when he's ready, as long as you continue to make food available (and clean out the uneaten food daily).
I hope life is not a joke, because if it is, I don't get it.

Hi again,

I did the following today:

=> Brought the turtles out under the sun in the morning. Had them scrambling around in the tank placed outside while I work on my Online Business at home. (yes, both turtles in the tank!)

=> applied the cream on the turtle's abscess scar.

=> tried feeding in the afternoon, but still refused pellets and veggie.

=> filled the water with tank in the evening, around shell-level.

=> tried again at night -- it finally ate its first two pellets!

I was happy to see it eat again, though it looked as if it was struggling for a while to eat, prolly due to the scar.

Goody Good!! :))

It stopped at 2 pellets. Tried feeding again but won't eat anymore. it might take some time again before it goes on feeding frenzy.

OK, it's been a while since I came back here.

I am glad to report to you all that my turtle is back to its regular eating habits again. They're both living in the same tank now, and do get outdoor exposures from time to time.

Thanks for the helpful advise thus far, and Happy New Year! :))
