Urgent Care :: Broken leg

Hello, i just got a Red eared slider, i got it not intending to look and buys one, but because it fell out of the sky dropped by a bird. it doesn't seem to have any injuries other than a broken front right leg, it's a very young turtle probably less than a month or two old. i'm not sure if a vet can do anything about it since it's so small, around 1 inch or so. s/he seems happy enough and likes to swim and it's ate a little. bit, but not enough, i just bought it a small cage for the time being and will even buy a larger one. i've taken care of small snakes and lizards and own two snakes and a lizard right now. but turtles are different and from what i see a lot harder to take care of. so i'm asking some help. it's too small to be let back out in the wild with a broken leg. if you want more info just ask, and i can take pictures of the temporary habitat. please provide some advice for the turtle, i want it to live a happy life, and i don't have the money to bring it to a vet.

As long as you're sure it's a RES, read up in the basic care section and post if you still have questions. Sounds like a lucky little turtle! They're tough little buggers and there's not much a vet could do for that type of injury on something so small. It'll heal on its own.

thanks i'll get some pictures taken it's a small cage, and i'm trying a few things for it. but the cage was cheap and better than an old brita water purifier. and she seems happy for now. so until i get paid again or get some more money i can't buy her a "proper" habitat, but i'll take all the help i can get .
