Hi,everyone...i need some help regarding on my tortoise.
these few weeks, he has been so weak,not eating much,
and whenever he is in the tank..he will open his mouth like
he wanna drown,when he is in the land,i mean outside of the
tank..he always open his mouth to breath..ive checked him
and tried to see whats inside of his mouth,i found out a pale
tongue or watever it is called..it luk so pale inside it..ive tried
to compare with my another tortoises..their tongue as pink/red
they were.i just wondering...should i just give him cod liver
vitamin oil(the one that we eat by vitamin pills) or just doin
nuttin?he always breath by opening his
mouth like he wanna vomite,plus he kept on sneeze like human.
i dont know wats wrong with him
actually..kinda worries these days.he is 5inches long and he's not
juvenile anymore..help me outta here plz!! :oops: :oops: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Something's wrong with the respiratory system. Better take your tortoise to the
vet as soon as possible. Good luck!

your res might have RI symptons, please read more about it here.

other things that you may want to pay attention now:

1. does your RES eats normally now?
2. does it swim lopsided?

my tortoise probably has a respiratory infection, I took mine to the vet and they prescribed me with nose drops for them

it sounds to me like you need to take your turtle to the vet.
I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007
