I dropped my RES yesterday and I'm worried. I'm not sure if she's bleeding, I mean her shell. Maybe I'm being paranoid but the bottom of her shell seems quite red. I read other topics on how to cure it or do first aid but I'm not even sure if it's hurt? Should I leave it be? Or should I do something. Oh, can anyone provide pictures of how a tortoise is suppose to be when it has shell bleeding.. I work better with graphics. Please help me save Tota!

Welcome. How is your turtle doing? Is the shell cracked anywhere? If not, is blood pooling under any of the scutes?

If you're unsure, posting a pic. If you're really concerned and/or if your RES is acting strangely, take her to a herp vet to be evaluated.

BTW, a RES is not the same as a tortoise...

Thanks! It's normal though. There was one small part where her shell skin peeled off and I don't think her shell is cracked. The bottom of her shell is a little red although I'm not sure if it was like that before. But since it's fine now...I dun need to be paranoid anymore. THANKS marisa!
Toti and Tota...odd name I know. They sound like lollipops but they are my first pets I got when I was 12
