I recently rescued this poor little guy from a pet shop (he's pig nose turtle) - he was sitting in a tiny box barely big enough for him to turn around in, in about 1cm of dirty flurocetant green water. I saw him there two weeks ago and almost bought him, but I didn't want to encorage the pet shop to buy and treat more turtles like this. HOWEVER I recently returned and he was still there alive!
I brought him home, placed him in fresh water and he is now swimming around and eating happily but I want to treat what I believe is a serve fungal infection in TWO places. It apparently kills pig nose turtles very rapdily. I have some special iodine solution for turtles but unsure of the best course of action for the turtle (i.e. do I dry dock/ soak in iodine, swab area etc etc).
I also have some F10 disinfectant that I know has been used successfully by herp vets to treat turtles in the past. Unsure of dulition quantities though.
Please help!
Appologies if anyone takes offence that he's not a RES
Thanks in advance!
