Most of you might still remember my Kame...she has early pyramiding...but she has been eating a lot veggies for more than 6months...

But...

for no apparent reason, she stopped eating since 4days ago. I gave her collard, she ignored it. Turnip Green, ignored. She even ignored her favorite veggie, ipoema aquatica.

I left her one of those veggies every moning before I left to work and came home to find untouched veggie.

I'm so worried...what is wrong with her? is this somekind of phase or something?

PS. she still eats her pellet

She may just be tired of the same old veggies. Can you get bloueberries where you are? Or a little tomato or carrot? Another favorite is steamed sweet potato. Another is fresh basil.

I agree, try some variety since some turtles can be picky. Leaving some aquatic plants in your tank is also an idea you might want to look into.

sweet potato and carrot are also her favorite but she ignored that too.

Bluberry is so hard to find her.

She is picky!! she would smell something 3times before eating it (so different with Kroten who will eat anything offered to her without hesitation).

I test her appetite by giving small amount of pellet n a cricket...Kame ate it...but when it came to veggie it's a no no.

I'm going to try carrot again today...I trully hope she'll eat.

could it be a stress?? maybe somehow she knew I'm going to leave her alone for 3days? or other kind of stress?

Try some aquatic plants.

Could be she's stressed - do the two turtles share the same tank? Does Kroten seem to pick on Kame?

As long as she's eating and behaving normally in all other ways I wouldn't worry to much if she refuses her veggies for a few days. Keep offering them and try different things. If she starts refusing her pellets, then let us know.

She doesn't necessarily HAVE TO eat veggies.....
Just buy pellets that contain a higher source of vegetables.

Spotmama>>no Kame and Kroten lived in separate tanks. So if she stops eating completely...then I should be worry?
I'm leaving town today, I have left her 2 big leaves of turnip green...I'll be back 4days from now and hoping none of the leaves left

Jozzep>>I don't think have that kinda pellet.

If she stops eating completely, then yes it's time to worry. Turtle have their ups and downs just like people, but when they seriously lose their appetite, or start acting tired and sluggish, then it's a sign they don't feel well.

Yes they do....just read the labels and the % of vegetables they contain.
Some have higher % of protein for hatchlings and others higher % of vegetable matter for grown ups :)
