Urgent Care :: cut on leg

My turtle has a cut where i guess we can say... the inner part of the knee! its a huge cut and appeared randomly and there is also a small one on the other leg same spot thats seems to just be starting!

any ideas?????

Is the cut deep? Is it still bleeding or raw? Is there anything in the tank that you think could be the cause?

Does he share the tank with another turtle?

What kind of basking area are you using, and is it easy for him to get on? Any sharp objects in the tank?

If the cut isn't deep, it would be good to clean it and put some antibiotic ointment on it (the other one that's starting as well). Keep the turtle out of the water to let it be absorbed, you could even put him in a box and keep him out of the water overnight.
